The Pinter & Martin “Why it Matters…” range of books is brilliant! Small, concise, easy-to-read, evidence-based books on a range of topics including Breastfeeding, Hypnobirthing, Baby’s Sleep, Postnatal Depression, Starting Solids and Babywearing to name a few. I can not recommend these books highly enough.

Babywearing:
Slings are a fantastic way to keep baby close and can be used for skin-to-skin time. With practice you can even breastfeed baby in the sling! The Carrying Matters website has a range of resources such as videos to help you choose and use slings safely.
Skin-to-skin tops (kangaroo care tops) are like t-shirts that you can put baby in. These are not slings so are not supportive enough on their own but are helpful to wear at home in those early weeks. There are lots available online and can be easily found by searching.
